How much does a website cost?
In Finland, a small business website usually costs about €400 to €2,500 + VAT as a one-off price, or about €16 to €90 per month as a rented website. Prices checked on 8 October 2026.
The short answer
On 8 October 2026 I went through the public prices of over 20 Finnish web designers and services. These are Finnish market prices, without VAT (VAT 25.5%, Finnish VAT).
- One-page business card website: about €150 to €600.
- Small business website, 3 to 5 pages: about €500 to €1,500.
- Multi-page website with service pages and texts: about €1,000 to €3,500.
- Large website, several languages or integrations: from €4,000 upwards. Projects by large agencies cost tens of thousands.
The median of the cheapest one-off packages was about €720. For websites with a monthly fee, the median of the cheapest level was about €44/month.
Three ways, three prices
You build it with a website builder
Up front: €0 and your own time
Monthly: about $4 to $40
Note: The website only works on that platform. Texts, images and getting found on Google are up to you.
Website with a monthly fee
Up front: usually €0 to €1,100
Monthly: about €16 to €90
Note: Often a 12-month contract. Check who owns the domain and the website.
A designer builds it for a one-off price
Up front: from about €350 upwards
Monthly: maintenance usually €35 to €80, often optional
Note: The website is yours. The price depends on the number of pages and the texts.
Example of the cost over three years: a rented website at €49/month costs €1,764 over 36 months without a setup fee. A €900 one-off website without maintenance costs €900 plus the domain over the same period.
What makes up the price
Number of pages
Every service on its own page means more work, but also makes you easier to find. A small business often needs only 3 to 5 pages.
Texts
If you provide the texts ready, the price is lower. Having the texts written for you is often the biggest single extra.
Design
A ready-made template is cheapest. A design made for your business costs more, but sets you apart from competitors.
Features
Online booking, an online shop, a calculator or a link to another system raise the price.
Languages
Each language is in practice a new website: texts, translations and its own address.
Search visibility
Some providers include the search engine basics in the price, others sell them separately. Ask what the quote includes.
Running costs per year
Domain (.fi or .com)
Price: about €13 to €30 per year
Note: The first year is often cheaper. Register the domain in your own name.
Hosting
Price: about €5 to €30 per month
Note: A lightweight website doesn't need expensive hosting.
Maintenance
Price: about €35 to €80 per month
Note: Updates, backups and small changes. Check whether it is mandatory.
Changes
Price: about €30 to €80 per hour
Note: Big changes are often done as hourly work or with a separate quote.
Maintenance is not always needed. A lightweight website without plugins doesn't age the same way as a website with dozens of plugins that need updating.
How to compare quotes
When you ask for quotes, ask each provider the same things. That way you compare like with like, not just the final total.
- Does the price include VAT or not? The difference is 25.5%.
- Who owns the domain, the website and the code? What happens if you end the contract?
- Is writing the texts included, or do you provide them yourself?
- Is maintenance mandatory, and how long is the contract period?
- What do changes cost after launch?
- Are the basics of Google visibility included in the price?
- Can you view websites the provider has actually built?
Luellux prices

The domain, website and code are in your name. Search visibility basics are included in every package.
Price FAQ
How much does a business website cost?
In Finland, a small business website usually costs about €400 to €2,500 + VAT as a one-off price. A one-page business card website can cost under €500, a large website over €4,000.
What does website maintenance cost?
Typically about €35 to €80 per month + VAT in Finland. The cheapest levels include only hosting and updates, the more expensive ones also content changes.
How much does a domain cost?
About €13 to €30 per year. The first year is often cheaper than the following years.
Do website prices include VAT?
Price lists for businesses usually exclude VAT, and VAT 25.5% (Finnish VAT) is added. A VAT-registered business can usually deduct the VAT, so for it the cost is the price without VAT.
Why are there such big price differences?
The price depends on who writes the texts, whether the design is made for your business and how many pages are built. A cheap package is often a ready-made template on one page.
Can you get a website for free?
Free versions of website builders usually have ads and the platform's own address. For a business, your own domain and an ad-free website always cost something.
Is a website with a monthly fee worth it?
It suits you if you want a small monthly payment and don't plan to change provider. Work out the total price over three years and check who owns the domain and the website when the contract ends.
Can you pay for a website in instalments?
With many providers, yes. At Luellux the project is invoiced in one to three instalments, and the quote is fixed.
Where the figures come from
The figures are based on the public price lists of Finnish web designers (16 one-off and 4 monthly-fee services), Zoner's domain price list and the price lists of Wix, Squarespace and WordPress.com. Data collected on 8 October 2026. The prices are estimates and change: always check the exact price with the provider.
